People pass the tense border crossing between Georgia and Abkhazia in the Georgian town of Zugdidi. Georgia, a former Soviet country, waged a brutal war with Abkhazia during the breakup of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, and was again at war with Russia in August 2008.
